Cohoes man accused of assault, kidnapping

A Cohoes man is facing a slew of charges, accused of assaulting a person and kidnapping a child from a Mechanicville home.
Mechanicville police arrested 28-year-old Derek Halikias. They say he broke into a home early Saturday morning, violating an order of protection, and assaulted a person. Police say he also abducted a child from the home and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
The child and victim have been reunited and Halikias was sent to the Saratoga County Jail.
