COHOES – The city of Cohoes rolled out a new recycling program on Monday.
It involves 4,500 new carts being assembled and handed out starting Tuesday.
They replace the smaller 14-gallon bins, which often overflowed.
The new carts cost $230,000. The city received a $130,000 grant from the state.
Officials also expect to save money, because it costs $25 a ton to recycle and $70 or $80 a ton to bring trash to the landfill.
