COVID blamed in more deaths at Bennington County nursing home

A COVID outbreak has claimed more lives at a Bennington County nursing home.

NewsChannel 13’s Stella Porter first reported the outbreak at the Crescent Manor Nursing Home and Rehab Facility on December 1. At the time, three people died.

Now the state confirms two more deaths from that outbreak and as of Saturday, 71 people were still COVID positive – 45 residents and 26 staff.

Also new, the state confirms the administrator of Crescent Manor, Mark Rivers, has been replaced by interim administrator Bruce Bodemer. That took effect on Saturday, although no reason for the change was given.

Crescent Manor has submitted an application to change ownership, but details are not being given out.

NewsChannel 13 is told the process is still in the review stage.
