Dog injured by sword in Greene County is recovering

A dog that survived a sword attack is on the mend. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office shared a picture of the dog named Peaches on their Facebook page with the message, “this picture says it all- doing much better.”

Investigators say the dog’s owner, Pauline Waldron, tried to decapitate Peaches with a sword. They say she also stabbed the dog several times, and then allowed it to suffer for about eight hours.

Peaches needed emergency surgery. She’s now being fostered by a professional in the veterinary field.

Waldron was arrested earlier this month. Five other dogs were also seized from the home.
