The Department of Justice says it will not open an investigation into if New York violated federal law by ordering nursing homes to accept residents who had been treated for coronavirus in a hospital.
The news was broken by Republican Congressman Steve Scalise on Twitter.
The DOJ also will not investigate Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey.
The state Department of Health says nearly 15,000 people died from COVID in long-term facilities.
New York state lawmakers are still looking into the nursing home situation.
