Fire at Lafarge Cement Plant in Coeymans under investigation

A fire at the Lafarge Cement Plant in Albany County is under investigation.
Firefighters with the Coeymans Fire Department say the call came in around 9:15 Sunday night.
Several fire companies responded to assist.
NewsChannel 13 is told the fire was knocked down shortly after it started.
No injuries were reported.
The plant released the following statement:
"Local first responders were called to the plant last night to assist after a belt in an underground tunnel caught fire. The cause of the incident and extent of the damage remain under review, and the plant continues to operate as normal. We are thankful that no injuries occurred and there was no threat to the greater Ravena-Coeymans community. We greatly appreciate the timely response and hard work of everyone involved in this incident and will provide additional details when they are available."
