Former police lieutenant charged with attempted murder in Rensselaer

Rensselaer police have charged a former police lieutenant with attempted murder. They say 55-year-old Michael Barone shot another man in the leg at 61 Washington Ave. during an argument.
Police say Barone then drove the victim to Albany Medical Center. That is where Albany police arrested him and recovered a gun.
Barone is also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
