Governor Kathy Hochul is directing $378 million of FEMA funding to go toward areas that were damaged by Hurricane Ida.
She signed a request to President Biden for expedited Major Disaster Declaration.
It would provide money for temporary housing assistance, crisis counseling, unemployment assistance, home repairs and legal services for those who have been displaced.
Governor Hochul visited Yonkers, Staten Island and other parts of the region to survey storm damage. She announced the launch of a new online research hub for New Yorkers who were impacted.
Those resources are available at ny.gov/ida.
