JCOPE targeted by cyberattack
New York’s ethics commission is working to recover after being the target of a "malicious" cyberattack.
NewsChannel 13’s NBC affiliate in New York reports the Joint Commission on Public Ethics, also known as JCOPE, had to take down its web server that houses its financial disclosure statement filing system and lobbying application, after being alerted about suspicious activity.
The commission says it is working with partners in information technology and law enforcement to learn more and get the system back online.
