Joe Sykes lends expertise as defensive assistant coach at RPI

Former Empire defensive lineman Joe Sykes traded in his cleats for a whistle and is lending his expertise to the RPI football team as a defensive assistant. The Arena Football League’s all-time sacks leader joined the Engineers during training camp after his hiring was delayed because of the pandemic. The student-athletes are enjoying learning from a guy with experience and success at every level of football and it has showed on the field. Ashley Miller has the story.
