Some state beaches will be closing early this summer. That’s because there aren’t enough lifeguards.

The state DEC released its new schedule on Thursday, based on when students return to school.

The beaches at Fish Creek Pond and Meacham Lake will be closed to swimming after this Sunday.

North South Lake Campground in the Catskills will close August 29.
