A man and a child are dead, and another man is in critical condition after a speeding motorcycle ran off the road and hit pedestrians Sunday in Lake George. Sources tell NewsChannel 13 the man was riding the motorcycle without a license.
It happened around 3:40 p.m. on Route 9 near the Lake George Expedition Park. State police say a motorcycle operated by 33-year-old Anthony Futia of Albany was heading north at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle went off the shoulder and onto a bike path.
The motorcycle hit a group of six people. Two of them – 38-year-old James Persons and 8-year-old Quinton Delgadillo, both of Lake George – were killed.
Another person – 30-year-old Jasmine Luellen of Lake George – was injured. Police say she’s in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.
The other people in the group were not injured.
Futia suffered life-threatening injuries. He’s in critical condition at Albany Med.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
