Mechanicville police make arrest in hit & run crash

Mechanicville police say they’ve arrested the person responsible for a Nov. 20 hit-and-run that injured a 71-year-old.

Police arrested Cara M. Goehrig, a 33-year-old from Mechanicville, on Saturday and charged her with leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury. Police say Goehrig was released after the arrest.

On Nov. 20, police responded to Mabbett Street and N. Central Avenue for a crash involving a pedestrian. Police say the vehicle responsible for the crash drove away from the scene heading north on N. Central Ave. before officers arrived.

Police found a 71-year-old victim who was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. They did not provide an update on the victim’s condition in their post announcing the arrest.
