Multiple companies agreed to pay nearly $146,000 in vaping settlement

8 different companies selling electronic cigarettes online have agreed to pay nearly $146,000 in a settlement with the State of Vermont.
The case stems from a law that went into effect in July of 2019. It made it illegal to sell electronic cigarettes or vaping products over the internet to individual people in Vermont. These are not the first companies to settle with the state over this law.
Since December of last year, the Vermont Attorney General has reached settlements with 21 different companies The State has made more than $618,000 in civil penalties.
