New Ballston Spa bakery is sugar, grain-free

BALLSTON SPA – A woman in Ballston Spa is having great success with her new bakery.

Everything Britt Young prepares is grain-free and sugar-free, and people are loving it.

It’s called The Sweetish Chef – named in honor of her mom, Sandra.

The orange tables and chairs inside are her mom’s favorite color.

However, her mom had health issues.

"She ended up going to the hospital in 2018, and it was an injury that a healthy person would have survived," said Young.

That’s when Young decided to share her sugar-free baked goods with the Capital Region, offering treats safe for diabetics and those with celiac disease.

She started with farmers markets, and recently opened up her own bakery on Front Street in Ballston Spa.
