GREENWICH – If the Olympics have inspired you to start skiing or maybe take it up again, the hills of southern Washington County may be calling.
Willard Mountain, known as "New York’s coolest little ski area" is making it easier for skiers, snowboarders, and tubers to enjoy a day of snowy fun.
New for the season, Willard recently installed two conveyor lifts – each measuring 320 feet long – near its learning center and tubing park.
The lifts improve the experience for beginner skiers and snowboarders, giving them varying options of how far up the mountain they’d like to go.
It also gives tubers an easier and faster access to the top of the tubing park.
Under construction since the fall, Willard’s operations crew had the new lifts up and running before the first snowflakes began to fall.
Willard is open Tuesdays through Sundays and offers lessons for both skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities.
