TROY – A ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome new beginnings for veterans at Hudson Valley Community College was held Wednesday morning.
It’s the introduction of the VET-ROC program, a focal point for veterans and the military-connected community on campus, which includes about 300 students.
VET-ROC has been in the making since 2018, and had its soft launch in February.
The Veterans Resource and Outreach Center is located on the first floor of the campus center.
Rensselaer County was awarded $145,000 in this year’s state budget to implement the program.
Project leaders say it’s the only resource center of its kind in the Capital Region.
