Non-profit gets $50k donation to help train people for tech jobs

The Business for Good Foundation, a local philanthropy organization, is at it again. The foundation is now helping CanCode Communities, a non-profit that helps local people who have an aptitude to work in software and technology but lack the resources for training.

Business for Good recently donated $50,000 to CanCode Communities, to advance its mission to give students the tools needed to enter the software and IT sectors, and create access to local employers.

Business for Good gives back to move forward by advancing the model of traditional venture philanthropy to communities in the Greater Capital Region.

CanCode Communities founder and CEO, Annmarie Lanesey, said, "We’re thrilled to receive this generous support from Business for Good. This funding will strengthen our efforts to provide underrepresented individuals with pathways to exciting careers in technology, expanding the talent pipeline for businesses and enriching the communities we serve."

CanCode’s digital literacy program helps students in grades K-12 build basic computer skills at little to no cost, opening up opportunities to move into more advanced training and create a diverse talent pipeline in our local communities.
