Starting Thursday, $800 million is available for New York small businesses or for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations.
The state program would reimburse them with grants between $5,000 and $50,000 for pandemic-related expenses incurred between March 1, 2020 and April 1, 2021.
That could be anything from personal protective equipment and payroll costs to commercial rent and mortgage payments.
Overall, more than 330,000 businesses statewide could be eligible, including over half of minority and women-owned businesses.
A support network will be available to work with small businesses directly through the application process.
