NY state reports 21,000+ new daily COVID cases; highest since pandemic began

New York state is reporting the highest number of daily COVID cases since the pandemic began.

Gov. Hochul reported 21,027 new cases in a Friday update.

The state’s daily positivity rate is 7.98%.

There are currently 3,839 people in the hospital, a net increase of 74.

Sadly, another 60 people died.

The 7-day positivity rate in the Capital Region rose from 6.34% on Wednesday to 6.59% on Thursday.

The 7-day positivity rate in the Mohawk Valley rose from 7.85% on Wednesday to 8% even on Thursday.
