Person killed after being rear-ended on Thruway exit ramp

A person is dead after a crash on the Thruway.

State police say the victim was rear-ended on the off-ramp to Exit 21A in Coeymans around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the victim had stopped in the exit lane, but don’t know why.

The driver of the car that hit the victim is recovering at Albany Med and is expected to survive.

The name of the person who died is being held pending notification of family.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
