Police investigate shooting in Troy

Police in Troy are investigating a shooting that happened around 3:05 p.m. on Sixth Avenue. That’s where they say a man was found with a gunshot wound.

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

Kim Ashe McPherson represents District 2. That’s where the shooting took place. She says she wants people in the community to put the guns down.

Evidence technicians and detectives were called to the scene.

Assistant Chief Steven Barker tells us that there are no individuals currently in custody. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
