Police: Schoharie County man attacked first responders after crash
State Police say a Richmondville man is facing a felony assault charge for attacking first responders.
Police responded Wednesday night to a one-car accident at the intersection of state Route 165 and state Route 10 in Seward. They say 37-year-old Liam O’Connor failed to stop at the intersection stop sign and struck a livestock fence.
They say speed was a factor.
When speaking with a trooper, O’Connor showed signs of impairment, then reportedly became combative with first responders and resisted arrest.
O’Connor was arraigned and transferred to Schoharie County Jail.
