The prosecution of James White was not without its challenges.

NewsChannel 13’s Elaine Houston sat down exclusively with Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly to discuss what happened behind the scenes.

Donnelly says this was an emotional case for the prosecution and that they had to take a step away and follow the law.

"You look at a case like this, and this is, I would submit, pure evil, what happened in Lansinburgh," said Donnelly. "It reminds you that we need to have the ability to hold people accountable. We need to have the ability to incarcerate certain individuals to protect the community."

Elaine will have more of her in-depth conversation on NewsChannel 13 Live at 4 and 5, and on WNYT.com.
