Rensselaer County is urging people to stay home, if possible, as part of the county remains under a Winter Storm Warning.

The county’s Director of Operations, Richard Crist, said the upper elevations of the county have seen significant accumulation. The county’s highway department started working early this afternoon in response to the storm, Christ says.

NewsChannel 13’s Stella Porter reports several cars have slid into ditches and an EMS worker told her they’ve been busy. Luckily, he said there haven’t been many injuries.

Porter and Meteorologist Reid Kissleback will have a live update on the storm on NewsChannel 13 Live at 11. Click here for the latest forecast.
