Road work beginning on Nott Street in Niskayuna

Drivers should expect delays along Nott Street near Balltown Road in Niskayuna as crews start construction work on the road. The work is expected to cause lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until September.

The $1.5. million safety improvement plan calls for sidewalks on both sides of the street, angled parking with a raised curb to separate the area from the road, and additional crosswalks.

Pedestrians will still be able to access businesses in the work zone during hours of operation throughout the construction period.

Sidewalks will be poured at night, so they are accessible by the following morning and minimize impact to businesses.
