Schenectady man facing DWI charges following car vs. train accident
A Schenectady man is facing DWI charges after his car was struck by a train in Halfmoon, early Sunday morning.
Deputies from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Kevin McGinn after responding to a car versus train accident on Tabor Road around 5:45 a.m.
They say McGinn had tried to cross the railroad tracks when his car became stuck. He then left the car, and it was struck by a Canadian Pacific Railway train. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
After investigating, deputies charged McGinn with DWI, aggravated DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or greater, and circumventing an ignition interlock device.
McGinn was arraigned and released on appearance tickets.
