South Glens Falls postpones football game after positive COVID test
The South Glens Falls School District says it’s putting the football team on pause after a team member tested positive for COVID-19.
Friday night’s game against Ballston Spa has been postponed.
The school district says they found out about the player’s positive test Thursday night. The families of team members were notified. The school district is now working with Saratoga County Health to complete contact tracing.
The scheduled matchup was supposed to be Ballston Spa’s homecoming game.
“I know that this game is a homecoming game for Ballston Spa. I am disappointed that we have to postpone this for them, but we must think about the safety of all players on both teams,” said South Glens Falls Superintendent Kristine Orr.
NewsChannel 13 reported Ballston Spa students were upset that their homecoming dance was postponed due to COVID concerns.
