State DMV issues one-year reminder to get Real ID

The DMV says now is the time to get your REAL ID.
In one year, on May 3, 2023, the federal government will require a REAL ID, or other accepted documents like an Enhanced ID or a passport to board a domestic flight.
Officials urged New Yorkers to apply for one now to avoid the last-minute rush next year.
