Storm brings more than six inches of snow to parts of the Capital Region

A late-November storm brought more than a half a foot of snow to parts of the Capital Region Friday night.

Some of the harder hit communities were in Berkshire, Bennington, Columbia and Rensselaer counties.

According to data from the National Weather Service, 13.5 inches of snow fell in Austerlitz in Columbia County. In Bennington County, the highest snowfall total was in Manchester with 10 inches recorded.

Dalton, in Berkshire County, received 8.7 inches of snow, and in Rensselaer County, the hardest hit area was Averill Park, with 8.2 inches.

NewsChannel 13 sent a crew to West Sand Lake Friday night. The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office was busy responding to crashes in the county during the afternoon and evening. Thankfully, paramedics told NewsChannel 13 they hadn’t seen many injuries.
