Suspect in Berkshire County murder awaits extradition

The suspect accused of killing a Berkshire County man at his home last week remains in Western New York, awaiting extradition.
William Gingerich, 36, of Clarksburg, was arrested last Thursday.
NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkhire Eagle report he was arrested by police in Lewiston, along the Canadian border.
He is charged with murder in the death of 71-year-old Dennis Bernardi in his home on Middle Road in Clarksburg.
Gingerich is expected to be arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court upon his return.
