Veterans can tour USS Slater for free on Veterans Day

ALBANY – Veterans were welcome to tour the USS Slater in the Port of Albany for free on Thursday.
A barbershop quartet opened the Veterans Day ceremony Thursday morning on the ship.
Several area politicians also spoke to mark the occasion, and a bugler played "Taps."
The USS Slater is the last destroyer escort afloat in the United States.
