NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland was the only reporter in the courtroom as Tyler Zaugg learned his fate.

Zaugg, who is just 20 years old, was sentenced to 32 years in prison for taking the life of his son, Noah.

You could hear a pin drop as the family of little Noah, including his mother, gave tear-filled testimony about what his death at the hands of Zaugg, did to them.

The child was just seven weeks old when he was rushed to the hospital. Zaugg, who was his father, called 911, claiming he was giving the baby a bath and the child "slipped under the water."

It turns out that Zaugg had punched his infant son and held him underwater.

Zaugg pleaded guilty back in February to manslaughter and assault. At the sentencing, Judge Rob Smith told Zaugg this was one of the most disturbing and heinous cases he’s ever seen.
