Warren County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam targeting businesses

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a scam targeting businesses.

The sheriff’s office says hotels in the Lake George region have been targeted.

They say rooms are reserved using stolen credit cards. The thieves then cancel the reservations and have the charges refunded to a different card, essentially stealing the refund.

Business owners should make sure refunds go to the credit or debit card used to make the reservation.
