Wintry mix creates slick roads in the Capital Region

Sleet and freezing rain have created hazardous travel conditions in the Capital Region.

Freezing rain and sleet moved into the area early Sunday morning. NY 511 is reporting accidents on many highways and interstates.

The Schenectady Police Department took to Twitter urging drivers to stay off the road. The department said officers had responded to more than 30 accidents since 7 a.m.
