Averill Park grad’s hammer throw advances him to finals at Paris Olympics

Averill Park grad Rudy Winkler is advancing in the Paris Olympics.

Winkler qualified for the hammer throw finals, with a throw of 77.29 meters. That’s the fourth-farthest throw among the competitors.

This is Winkler’s third Olympics.

Hammer throw finals are on Sunday.
