Advocates gathered at the Capitol in Albany to push for a bill to make it easier to find a life-saving organ.
Nearly 8,000 New Yorkers are currently on a wait list for a life-changing organ.
The HEART Act would make it easier for low-income residents to find a match. It would repeal New York’s ban on multi-listing – allowing patients to register at multiple transplant centers at the same time.
