Albany reactivates system for residents to easily report non-emergency issues

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is directing the reactivation of SeeClickFix. It's an internet-based system designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to report non-emergency issues like potholes, code violations, and illegally dumped garbage.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is directing the reactivation of SeeClickFix. It’s an internet-based system designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to report non-emergency issues like potholes, code violations, and illegally dumped garbage.

The idea is the city can address these problems effectively and efficiently.

The city had suspended use of the program last month after appeals court decision found that it represents legal notice requiring the city to address the issues.

Sheehan said the program’s reactivation comes as a direct result of the Common Council’s quick action to enact what’s called Local Law M of 2024.
