Amsterdam man allegedly caught red-handed while shoplifting

A man from Amsterdam was caught red-handed shoplifting, investigators said.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy spotted Gary Sheppie Jr., 40, walking out of Target with a black plastic bag that had merchandise inside.
The deputy recognized Sheppie, as he already had an outstanding warrant after allegedly shoplifting from Hannaford more than once.
Sheppie allegedly tried to run, but he was caught and arrested.
He is charged with six counts of larceny.
