The New York State Museum in Albany was holding its annual Capital Kwanzaa Celebration on Thursday.

The event honors African American culture, history and values organizers said.

There celebration includes live drumming, a candle lighting ceremony, and activities for people of all ages.

Anyone who attends is encouraged to bring a bruit for the community fruit basket.

The free ceremony was going from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
