The school says his iconic number 11 jersey will be retired during a special ceremony on Friday, February 14 inside the Glens Falls High School gym.
Girard currently plays professionally overseas in Europe, but he will be back for the ceremony.
Girard will join fellow Glens Falls basketball legend Jimmer Fredette as the only players in the city’s history to have their jersey’s retired.
Over five seasons at Glens Falls High School, Girard became New York state’s all-time leading scorer, while helping to secure the school’s first ever state championship with a game winning buzzer beater.
