Man charged in Albany assault that led to second-floor balcony fall

Albany Police arrested a man from Port Jefferson in connection with an assault on Hudson Avenue.

Officers responded to a home on Hudson Avenue near Quail Street around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening for a report of someone who fell from a second-floor balcony.
The 20-year-old man was unconscious with injuries to his head and leg.
He was taken to Albany Medical Center.
Owen Travers, 21, attacked the victim during a fight, police said. That caused the victim to fall.
Travers turned himself in to police a short time later.
He was arraigned on assault charges and released.
