A woman had an illegal handgun in her possession, investigators said.

Chaniqua Donato was arrested in Watervliet for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

During her arrest, officers found the gun, they said.

Donato, 34, woman is now charged with possession of a weapon and driving while intoxicated.
