A Rensselaer County sex offender will now spend 24 years in prison for having child porn.

Zachary Cota, 32, admitted to using Snapchat to get three children to send him naked photos of themselves. One of the kids was young as 8 years old, investigators said.

Cota, 32, threatened to reveal what they had done, in an effort to coerce the children to send additional child sexual abuse material.  

Cota was on probation when the incident happened.

The department found more than 900 images child porn material on his phone.
