Rensselaer man charged with making terrorist threat, DWI after crash
A Rensselaer man was arrested Friday for allegedly speeding and crashing his vehicle.
The crash happened on Route 9J near Stony Point Road in Castleton. Two vehicles were traveling at high speed and collided. One of the vehicles went off the road into the marsh area off Route 9J. The driver was taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center.
The driver of the other vehicle, William V. Bertrand, 61, was arrested. Bertrand was charged with making a terroristic threat, criminal mischief and DWI. He is also charged with several traffic violations.
Bertrand was arraigned in Schodack Town Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail.
The incident is still under investigation.
