Schenectady County approves $5 million for arena project
Lawmakers in Schenectady County have approved an agreement that includes $5 million to support the Mohawk Harbor Arena project.
The money from the American Rescue Plan Act will now help build and sports-and-events center at Mohawk Harbor.
The agreement between the county and West Yard Properties, LLC also requires the county to host at least 15 events at least each year for the first seven years of operation.
It also designates the facility as a backup venue for SUNY Schenectady’s graduation ceremony in case of bad weather.
