Schenectady man accused of having stolen gun

A Schenectady man is accused of having a stolen gun. State Police stopped a vehicle on Freemans Bridge Road in Glenville around 5:40 p.m. Sunday for a traffic violation. Police determined that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured. One of the passengers in the vehicle, 21-year-old Arkise D. Alexander, had a handgun that was reported stolen from the state of North Carolina in 2019, police said.

A Schenectady man was found with a stolen gun, police said.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Freemans Bridge Road in Glenville around 5:40 p.m. Sunday for a traffic violation. Police determined that the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured, they said.

A passenger, Arkise D. Alexander, 21, had a handgun that was reported stolen from the state of North Carolina in 2019, police said.

Alexander was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property. He was taken to Schenectady County Jail to await arraignment.

The driver was ticketed and released along with the other passengers.
