A staple at The Crossings in Colonie is now gone.

The Shrubbery Maze has been cut down and removed.

NewsChannel 13 stopped by, and all that’s left are the plant and tree stumps.

The Colonie parks coordinator said over the last few years, it became harder to maintain because of wear and tear.

Tom Hoffman, who founded the Hoffman’s Car Wash franchise, originally built the maze with the town’s permission.

Hoffman Development asked to remove it and replace it with something different.

They are working together to redevelop the area. However, there’s no decision yet on what will go there.
