Unity House cuts ribbon on crisis support residence

Crisis support residence is now open in Troy

The ribbon was cut on Unity House in Troy, which is a crisis support residence.

The Unity House in Troy cut the ribbon on its renovated crisis support residence.

It’s a voluntary 28-day residential program for Capital Region adults who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis.

When mental health symptoms present challenges in daily life to the point they risk hospitalization, this space offers them a chance to reset.

“This crisis residence will provide an alternate location for a respite from the person’s stressors, aiding and achieving stabilization and reducing the likelihood of return visits to the emergency department,” said Jennifer LeMay, director of care coordinator for the Rensselaer County Department of Mental Health.

The program fits perfectly and fulfills a need, Unity House CEO Dave Bach said.
