Woman gets time served, probation for having loaded gun during Northway traffic stop

A North Carolina woman was sentenced to probation for possessing a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.

State Police stopped Elizabeth N. Burns, 29, on the Northway in Saratoga Springs on April 15 at around 3:30 p.m. for a traffic violation. Troopers found the gun in the vehicle.

Burns pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in September. She received time served and five years of probation on Dec. 5.
